Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon has questioned the purpose of VAR after being denied a penalty during his side’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The criticism ironically came just hours after Wolves launched a campaign to get VAR completely scrapped from the Premier League next season after a series of controversial calls which have gone against them. The debate surrounding VAR has been something which has dominated the football landscape since its introduction to the top-flight in 2019.
